His older brother Adam, has played in the BCHL, WHL, ECHL and now plays for the Edinburgh Knights of the English Elite League.

Played his minor hockey with the North Shore Winter Club and credits his dad for having had the most influence on his career for always being there and giving his support.

His most memorable hockey moment was winning the Quebec Pee Wee tournament – “it was a very prestigious tournament and it was the first time I had played in front of a big crowd."
