Plymouth Whalers Tom Wilson and Connor Carrick faced Brampton on Jan. 11.Both came up big in a 4-2 win as Carrick notched an assist and Wilson tallied a goal and an assist. Carrick helped Plymouth win their next game against Erie while Wilson did not participate, instead participating in Capitals training camp at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Wilson was assigned back to Plymouth on Jan. 16 and he and the Whalers have upcoming games against Mississauga and Sault Ste. Marie on consecutive nights (Jan. 18-19) followed by a game against Erie (Jan. 21).

Riley Barber returned to Miami University of Ohio this week following the World Junior Championship. In his first game back against Northern Michigan (Jan. 11) he was held pointless. He rebounded the following night (Jan. 12) against the same team recording both a goal and an assist, his ninth and 15th respectively. Barber and the RedHawks face Wisconsin this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 18-19).

Goalie Steffen Soberg and Valerenga earned two more wins on the season, bringing Soberg’s total wins on the season to 22, with nine losses. He was involved in a high-scoring affair, a 7-5 win over Rosenborg (Jan .13), and a 2-1 victory vs. Sarpsborg two nights later (Jan. 15). Soberg and Valerenga will face Sarpsborg again tonight (Jan. 17) and then play Asker on Sunday (Jan. 20).
