ARLINGTON, Va. – Four-time U.S. Women’s Hockey Team Olympic medalist Julie Chu presented a $10,000 check to Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation on behalf of Easton Hockey on Tuesday, April 1, at Verizon Center.
MSE COO, Capitals president and MSE Foundation board member Dick Patrick accepted the check on behalf of the Foundation.
The funds will be used by MSE Foundation and the Capitals to provide youth and amateur hockey programs in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., with equipment.
“I am so excited to be here on behalf of Easton and get the chance to make a $10,000 product donation to the Capitals and all the great youth programs they are associated with,” said Chu. “For me, being able to partner with a company, a great NHL organization with such a great history and being able to give back to our youth - to the grassroots programs - that means everything.”
Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation supports the charitable efforts of the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards. MSE Foundation is committed to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and focuses on the following five pillars to maximize its impact and engagement with the community: youth basketball and hockey, education and scholarship, pediatric health and fitness, military and veterans’ affairs and hunger and homelessness.
