ARLINGTON, Va. – Monumental Sports & Entertainment earned its fourth consecutive Emmy Award for Caps Red Line presented by GEICO at the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Gala on June 14 at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Md.
The CRL segment “Elliot’s Take: Elliot Learns and Performs Let’s Go Caps Live” won an Emmy in the Sports Program Feature/Segment category. It was the only nomination for an Emmy Award among 15 entries in the category.
The Elliot’s Take segment, which aired March 25, 2013, featured Elliot Segal performing Let’s Go Caps live during a game after being mentored by Capitals Organist Bruce Anderson.
The official nominees included: Michael Wurman, executive producer, Rob Hedrick, co-executive producer, Joe Dupriest, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Elliot Segal, segment host, Todd Burger, director of photography, Timothy Libeau, post-production supervisor, Bruce Anderson, talent, and Torrey Smith, supervising producer. As the only nominee in the category, the segment became CRL’s fourth Emmy Award. CRL has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards since the show’s creation in 2008.
