Caps Care Classic Charity Golf Tournament Raises $171,487 for Children's National Medical Center, Athletes Against Autism and Washington Capitals Charities
“I had a wonderful time playing with Willie O’Ree at this year’s Caps Care Classic,” said Capitals chairman and majority owner Ted Leonsis. “This annual event always raises funds for great charitable causes. I was proud to participate in this year’s event that benefited Children’s National Medical Center and Athletes Against Autism, which was founded by Olie Kolzig.”
Major sponsors who took part in the event at the $15,000 level included The Leonsis Foundation and BAE Systems North America. $10,000 sponsors included Altria Corporate Services, Inc., AAI Corporation, The Boeing Company, Agusta Westland North America and Thales North America, Inc.
The Capitals open the season on Friday, Oct. 6, against the Atlanta Thrashers. Opening Night at Verizon Center is set for Saturday, Oct. 6, against the Carolina Hurricanes. Faceoff is slated for 7 p.m.
