Matt Bradley Visits Westland Middle School to Help Launch Recycling Program

Friday, 02.29.2008 / 11:41 AM / News
Washington Capitals right wing Matt Bradley visited Westland Middle School in Bethesda, Md., today. Bradley addressed the student body about his involvement in recycling and helped the school launch a new recycling program.

For the next month students will collect plastic bottle caps that are not able to be recycled. The bottle caps will then be used to create a mosaic-like work of art, and the students will use their math skills to estimate how much waste they produce from their bottle caps each month.

Bradley, who started a recycling program at the beginning of the season in the Caps dressing rooms at Kettler Capitals Iceplex and Verizon Center, also encouraged students to help conserve water and energy in their everyday activities.
