Capitals Players Attend Miracle on Seventh Street
Nicklas Backstrom, Mike Green and Brooks Laich served food at District ChopHouse
The Caps players joined volunteers from organizations throughout the city to help out at this event. The Capitals have participated in Miracle on Seventh Street all six years that it has taken place. Backstrom, Green and Laich signed autographs, served food and spent time with the families.
This is the first time that the event is being held on Thanksgiving Day in the past the District ChopHouse has held the event on Christmas Day. “Usually we’re at Miracle on Seventh Street for the love of Christmas, but this year we’re here for the love of Thanksgiving,” said Caps defenseman Mike Green.
“I really enjoyed serving food and meeting all of the families,” said forward Brooks Laich. Every family that attended Miracle on Seventh Street was served a sit-down meal of roast turkey, ham, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes and cookies.
