Happy Hockey Holiday Silent Auction Raises Nearly $12,000 for Charity
Capitals’ wives created and donated gift baskets with their husbands’ favorite things for the auction. Each basket included at least one autographed item and either game-used sticks or jerseys. Baskets were made for Bruce Boudreau, Nicklas Backstrom, Chris Clark, Olie Kolzig, Michael Nylander, Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin, Matt Bradley and Matt Pettinger, Steve Eminger and Shaone Morrisonn, John Erskine and Brent Johnson, Boyd Gordon and Dave Steckel and Brian Pothier and Tom Poti.
Six baskets went for more than $1,000, with Nylander’s raising the most money at $2,000.
