Fall Puck Surprise

Monday, 11.09.2009 / 9:06 PM / Community
The Washington Capitals raised $18,060 through the team’s Fall Puck Surprise, which took place at the Caps game against the Florida Panthers on Nov. 7. The fundraiser featured 450 pucks that were packaged with Hershey’s Kisses and signed by various Capitals players and sold for $40 each. The pucks went on sale at 6 p.m. when the doors opened to Verizon Center and sold out in 45 minutes.

Megan Crosson, Shaun Dahn, Carla DeMendonca, Melissa Johnston and Michelle Kettner were the Fall Puck Surprise winners. The five winners selected unsigned pucks and therefore got to meet Caps defenseman Mike Green. Green signed their pucks and took photos with all of the winners.

All proceeds from the Fall Puck Surprise benefit Washington Capitals Charities and will be donated to the two D.C. Public Schools the Capitals adopted this season, Emery Education Campus and King Elementary School.
