ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have assigned goaltender Semyon Varlamov to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League and have assigned left wing Quintin Laing and defenseman Tyler Sloan to Hershey on conditioning stints, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Varlamov, 21, is 12-2-2 with the Capitals this season, posting a 2.44 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. He has played two games in Hershey this season, both wins, with a 2.50 GAA and a .915 save percentage. He most recently represented Russia at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver but did not see action.
