Morrisonn Helps Welcome Canadian Women\'s Soccer Team to DC
Capitals defenseman Shaone Morrisonn helped welcome the women’s Canadian national soccer team to D.C. at the Canadian Embassy on Thursday, May 20. Morrisonn joined Canadian players Erin McLeod, Christine Sinclair and Karina LeBlanc and head coach Carolina Morace, who were in town to take on the Washington Freedom. Freedom players Sarah Huffman and Rebecca Moros and head coach Jim Gabarra also attended the event. The entire group met with Gary Doer, Canada's Ambassador to the United States, on the rooftop of the Embassy.
The Freedom and Canadian national team tied 3-3 at their game at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va., on May 23.
