Capitals, Aramark Ask Fans to Choose Verizon Center\u2019s\r\n\u2018Signature Sandwich\u2019 for Face-off at Winter Classic
WASHINGTON – With the NHL’s 2011 Winter Classic in Pittsburgh, ARAMARK – the food and beverage partner of the Washington Capitals – is asking Caps fans which sandwich from Verizon Center should join the Capitals when the puck is dropped for hockey’s annual outdoor showcase, January 1 at Heinz Field against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Through December 23, the Capitals and ARAMARK will give fans the opportunity to choose one of the two finalists below as their team’s “signature sandwich.”
The Fury: Chipotle-rubbed pulled pork, roasted poblano peppers and onions, topped with Monterey Jack cheese and a bacon adobo sauce heaped on a fresh-baked artisan roll
Capital Pot Roast Carver: Slow-braised beef brisket with pan gravy atop roasted vegetable mashed potatoes and finished with ketchup-braised onions on a hearth-baked onion-brioche roll

During home games December 15, 21 and 23 at Verizon Center, fans will be able to taste each sandwich at Section 108 inside Verizon Center and cast their vote for which finalist best represents Washington, the Capitals and Verizon Center. Fans also can vote online by visiting through December 23.
The winning Verizon Center sandwich will compete against the “signature sandwich” from CONSOL Energy Center in the first Signature Sandwich Face-off at the 2011 Winter Classic, January 1 at Heinz Field, to determine which sandwich is most worthy of hockey fans’ appetites.
