Caps Players’ Wives and Girlfriends Visit Children’s National Medical Center

Monday, 02.07.2011 / 8:23 PM / Community
Rachel Fehr, Mandy, Flemmer, Kim Hendricks, Mackenzie Keeley, Megan Knuble and Diondra Steckel made valentines with patients at Children’s National Medical Center on Feb. 7. Visiting Children’s National and participating in an arts and crafts project with the patients has become an annual tradition for the Caps players’ wives and girlfriends. This marks the third consecutive year that they have visited the hospital and was the first of two visits the Capitals will make to Children’s National Medical Center this month, as players are scheduled to visit patients on Feb. 24.

Children’s National Medical Center is the only exclusive provider of pediatric care in the metropolitan Washington area and is the only freestanding children’s hospital between Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Norfolk, and Atlanta. Serving the nation’s children for more than 130 years, Children’s National is a proven leader in the development and application of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury.
