Pick-A-Stick raises more than $18,000

Washington Capitals Charities raised $18,395 through its Pick-A-Stick fundraiser that took place at Verizon Center during the Caps game against the Carolina Hurricanes on March 11. The fundraiser featured 245 hockey sticks signed by various Caps players that sold for $75 each. The sticks went on sale when doors to Verizon Center opened and were sold out before the start of the game.
Caps fans Andy Adam, John Blades, Harry Brown, Allen Hicks and Amy Silberman selected sticks that were not signed, and as a result got to meet Semyon Varlamov after the game. Varlamov signed the winners’ hockey sticks and took photos with them.
The Capitals would like to congratulate our Pick-A-Stick grand-prize winners and thank all of the participants who helped make it a success.
