February Caps@School

The Washington Capitals would like to congratulate Ms. Perrault’s third-grade class at Potowmack Elementary School in Sterling, Va., for being selected as the February winners of the Caps@School contest. As last month’s contest winners, Ms. Perrault won a special Washington Capitals visit and Chipotle burrito party for her students who completed the Caps@School language arts lesson plan. Slapshot visited with the students while they enjoyed burritos, chips and salsa courtesy of Chipotle. Each student also got to take home a puck autographed by Washington Capitals left wing Alexander Semin.

Through the Caps@School program, the Capitals are making available to local educators a free, online curriculum-enhancing teaching tool for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade classes. The Caps@School website features lesson plans with Alex Ovechkin and Mike Green, player fun facts, stories and more.

Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., teachers can enroll their classes for free and start to download lesson plans at the Caps@School website at CapsAtSchool.com.
