HBO's 24/7 Penguins/Capitals: The Road to the NHL Winter Classic DVD Release
Verizon Center Team Store first to offer DVD at launch event Dec. 1
The Team Store, located at the F Street entrance of Verizon Center, will open its doors at 4 p.m. on Dec. 1 and the first 50 copies sold will all include Owner Ted Leonsis' autograph; the next 50 people to purchase the “24/7” DVD will received a special gift pack. The DVD will be available at other retailers starting Dec. 6.
From HBO, “This four-part “24/7” series, “Penguins/Capitals: Road to the NHL Winter Classic” DVD, charted the activities of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals, two of the National Hockey League’s most electrifying and successful teams, all on DVD, as they geared up for a big-event showdown in the 2011 NHL Winter Classic. Chronicling the highs and lows of each team every week for four weeks, “Penguins/Capitals: Road to the NHL Winter Classic” DVD will feature exclusive footage of players and management in the locker room, on the ice, and at leisure as they made their way through the 2010-2011 hockey season, and eagerly eyed their January 1 showdown.”
Fans that purchase the “24/7” DVD on Dec. 1 will also receive a $20 Verizon Center Team Store credit towards the purchase of a Capitals retro “third jersey” (while supplies last). Washington will wear a third jersey modeled after its 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic jersey for 16 select road games during the 2011-12 season. The only way to obtain the $20 off the third jersey is to purchase the “24/7” DVD at the launch event on Dec. 1.
Fans do not need a game ticket to attend the launch event at the Verizon Center Team Store. For more information regarding the launch event, please visit www.washingtoncaps.com.
