Filip Forsberg continues his hot start to the 2012-13 season, ranking eighth in the league (Allsvenskan) in points and tied for fourth in goals and leads all players aged 19 and under in points. Forsberg carried a three-game goal streak into play last Saturday (Sept. 29) before being held off the score sheet against Mora. He returned to form with a four-point night (two goals, two assists) against Oskarshamn on Wednesday (Oct. 3). Forsberg looks to continue his pace with a game against Djurgardens this Friday (Oct. 5) and will face Vasteras on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
Plymouth Whalers forward Tom Wilson scored his first two goals of the season in a 6-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Sept. 29. He now has three points (two goals, one assist) over the first three games of the season and ranks tied for first on the team in goals. Wilson and the Whalers take on Guelph, coached by Capitals alum Scott Walker, on Oct. 5, and follow that up with a game against Niagara the following night.
