Monumental Sports & Entertainment and SB Nation Form Content Partnership
Collaboration to Become One of Region’s Top Destinations for Sports and Entertainment News
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced today the formation of a collaborative content partnership with SB Nation and its nine D.C.- and Baltimore-focused websites, which will expand the company’s local and regional sports and entertainment coverage.
Monumental’s partnership with SB Nation will allow for expanded integration among Monumental websites and blogs and SB Nation-operated communities and news sites. The agreement will allow both Monumental and SB Nation to cross promote features and programs in order to maximize coverage and publicity and will add significant digital sales opportunities for both Monumental and SB Nation. Cross promotion and collaboration will offer fans new outlets to follow their favorite teams and will provide exciting and unique content via written and video features. The partnership is designed to offer fans more comprehensive coverage of the Wizards and Capitals.
The partnership will kick off in November with original content featuring Monumental personalities and SB Nation writers introducing two new programs:
Press Box: This bi-weekly, roundtable format will deliver fans spirited discussions from reporters, broadcasters and bloggers covering local teams as well as national sports news. The premiere episode will air today at noon on WashingtonWizards.com with host Dave Johnson and features Wizards personalities Glenn Consor and Casey Phillips along with SB Nation writers Mike Prada and Thomas Pruitt. Each new episode is scheduled to air at noon on Monumental team sites as well as participating SB Nation partner sites.
On the Road: This will be the go-to place for Wizards and Caps fans to see what’s happening with the team’s upcoming opponent. SB Nation reporters around the country will give insight from the other bench offering viewers a better understanding of the opponent and challenges for Monumental teams and who and what to watch for during the game. The premiere is scheduled to preview the Wizards’ Nov. 30 game against the New York Knicks.
Both programs are designed to offer fans in-depth analysis and unique perspective on their favorite teams from the area’s leading sports experts and influencers.
