On November 6, 1990, the Washington Capitals defeated the Quebec Nordiques by a score of 4-1 at Les Colisee in Quebec.

At 3:12 of the first period, Quebec's Joe Cirella was sent off for holding. Just six seconds before Cirella was due to leave the penalty bench, Washington's Steve Leach scored a power play goal. John Druce and Mikhail Tatarinov were credited with helpers on the tally. At 10:28, 18-year-old Nords rookie Owen Nolan was whistled for the third Quebec minor of the period. Again, the Caps made the Nordiques pay. This time, it took only 15 seconds of power play time before Druce banged home his eighth goal of the season, beating Ron Tugnutt. Dale Hunter and Michal Pivonka assisted. The Caps had 15 shots on Tugnutt while Quebec countered with eight against Washington's Mike Liut in the opening period.

Fourteen minutes and six seconds into the second period, Peter Bondra's third goal of the season extended the Washington advantage to 3-0. Druce and Calle Johansson picked up the helpers on Bondra's goal. The Capitals outshot the Nordiques in the second period by a10-8 margin.

Bondra's second of the game - an unassisted tally - was the final nail in the Quebec coffin that night. It came at 10:42 of the third. Lucien DeBlois spoiled Liut's shutout bid when he scored with just 5:20 remaining. The Caps again held a distinct advantage in shots on goal, 14-6. Washington outshot Quebec by a 39-22 margin on the night.

Druce earned number one star honors with a goal and two assists. Bondra's pair of goals was enough to make him the number two star. Washington defenseman Kevin Hatcher was pointless on the night, but came away with the third star. Hatcher was on the ice for three of the four Capitals goals.
