Reading, Pa. – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Philipp Grubauer has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for November, 2012. Grubauer, a second year pro from Rosenheim, Germany, went 10-1-0-0 with a 2.13 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in twelve appearances for the Royals during the month of November.

Grubauer, who was honored as the league’s Goaltender of the Week for November 12 through 18, 2012, was also selected as the ECHL’s Goaltender of the Month for November of 2011 when he was a member of the South Carolina Stingrays. Grubauer is the third goaltender in Royals’ team history to be honored with the monthly award, joining Peter Hamerlik (February of 2004) and Cody Rudkowsky (November of 2005) as recipients of the honor.

During the month of November, Grubauer established a new team record by winning ten consecutive games, eclipsing the record established by Ben Scrivens, currently with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, who won nine straight for the Royals in 2010-11. Grubauer, who held the opposition to two or less goals six times in the month of November, picked up two of his wins in overtime and two more in the shootout, where he has stopped seven of the ten shots that he has so far faced in the skills competition.

The Royals return to action at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, tonight (Wednesday, December 5 @ 7:05 pm) when the reigning Kelly Cup Champion Florida Everblades make their only visit of the year to Reading. The first 1500 fans 21 years of age and older get a plastic pint glass courtesy of All-Star Distributing. Labatt Blue Draft is just $4.00 on Wednesday. The Game Night Broadcast kicks off at 6:35 pm on ESPN Radio (1240 am and 98.5 fm). Royals multi-game flex plans for the 2012-13 season presented by Steve Moyer Subaru are available at 610-898-7825 and through the Royals website: www.royalshockey.com.
