Capitals Recall Poti from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have officially recalled defenseman Tom Poti from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

The 6’3”, 190-pound defenseman was on a conditioning loan to Hershey and scored one goal on three shots in two games with the Bears. He missed all 82 games last season due to an injury and last appeared in an NHL game with Washington on Jan. 12, 2011, at Tampa Bay.

In 808 career NHL regular-season games, Poti has recorded 325 points (69 goals, 256 assists) and 586 penalty minutes.
