Connor Carrick and the Plymouth Whalers have won 12 of their last 13 games, dating back to Feb. 8. This past week, Carrick himself helped the Whalers cause notching a total of six points (one goal, five assists) in four games. This includes a two-assist performance against Erie which ended up being a 7-2 win for Plymouth (Mar. 1). Carrick and the Whalers continue their run as the regular season winds down in March. After a hefty load last week, the Whalers only have one game slated for this week when they face Saginaw (Mar. 10).
Chandler Stephenson put together a strong week for the Regina Pats as he tallied two goals and three assists this week. A chunk of those came when Regina blew out Moose Jaw 7-2 (Mar. 2), and Stepehnson himself recorded one goal and three assists in the effort. Stephenson and the Pats have a heavy slate of games this week as they face Edmonton (Mar. 6), Prince Albert (Mar. 8), Saskatoon (Mar. 9) and Moose Jaw (Mar. 12).
Riley Barber and Miami University of Ohio Redhawks received the regular season trophy for the CCHA this past week. Barber, a freshman, finished as the leading scorer for his team with 36 points. He had the most goals on the team and was second in assists with 21; the leader in assists had 22.
