Oates, Bondra and Kolzig Highlight Caps Alumni Game

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals will host the Capitals Alumni Game at Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. The game will include many former Capitals players and will kick off the 2013 Capitals Convention weekend festivities.

The game will feature “Team Langway” facing off against “Team Laughlin.” Participating alumni are scheduled to include, Hall of Famer Adam Oates, former All-Stars Peter Bondra, Dennis Maruk, Olie Kolzig as well as former Cap and assistant coach Calle Johansson. Other former players expected to play or participate are Greg Adams, Nelson Burton, John Druce, Alan Hangsleben, Kevin Kaminski, Yvon Labre, Gord Lane, Rod Langway, Craig Laughlin, Alan May, Paul Mulvey, Pat Peake, Errol Rausse, Pat Ribble, Gary Rissling, Ken Sabourin, Reggie Savage, Neil Sheehy, Bryan Watson, Brendan Witt and Bernie Wolfe. Additional participants will be announced at a later date.

Tickets are $10 with all proceeds benefiting Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation. You must be a Caps Convention ticket holder to purchase Capitals Alumni Game tickets. Tickets go on sale Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. on and are limited and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. A convention ticket does not guarantee an alumni game ticket.

In addition, the alumni game will be the first opportunity to purchase Caps Convention merchandise. Attendees will also have a chance to pick up their autograph wristbands at the game.

The 2013 Capitals Convention, presented by GEICO, will take place on Sept. 21 at the Washington Convention Center. The event has been a tremendous success in its first three years, attracting sold-out crowds of more than 6,500 to the day-long interactive and informational celebration of the Capitals, which features the entire roster of current players and a number of prominent alumni.
