ARLINGTON, Va. – The Sochi 2014 Torch and official outfit worn by Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin during his portion of the Sochi 2014 Torch relay will be on display at Verizon Center (outside of Section 104) during the Washington Capitals home opener against the Calgary Flames on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Ovechkin recently traveled to Olympia, Greece to participate in the Sochi 2014 Torch lighting ceremony and relay. He was the first Russian to carry the Sochi 2014 Torch upon ignition at the Torch lighting ceremony.

The Sochi 2014 Torch relay will consist of a 132-day journey from Olympia, Greece to Sochi, Russia, traveling through all 83 regions of Russia and covering approximately 65,000 kilometers.
