Based in Metulla, Israel, the Canada Israel Hockey School is the only hockey program in Israel dedicated to teaching young people hockey. It is open to all youth, encouraging people of different faiths and genders to play the sport. The goal of the program is to integrate Jewish and Arab children through hockey.

Holtby and Carrick helped run drills during the team’s skate on Thursday.

"Anytime we can help teach kids the game of hockey is a special experience," said Holtby. "Hockey has so much potential to teach lessons to these young kids and bring them closer together."

The group’s visit also included a game against the Jewish Day School at the Rockville Ice Arena in Rockville, Md., and a tour of the White House.
