Caps’ Better Halves Gift Basket Silent Auction Raises More Than $15,000 for Charity
The Caps’ Better Halves raised $15,500 for Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation through their annual gift basket silent auction held at the Capitals game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday, April 11.
The Caps’ Better Halves created 10 themed gift baskets: cooking, date night, game night, golf, fitness, ladies, Canadian, Swedish, players’ favorite things and sports fan. Each basket included a Capitals team-autographed jersey and player-autographed game-used stick. The baskets also included autographed sports memorabilia from other sports teams, restaurant gift certificates, event tickets, jewelry and other items hand-picked by the players and their better halves.
All of the baskets sold for $1,000 or more, with the game night basket selling for the most at $2,800.
