Each week the Washington Capitals will ask you, the fans, a topical question. We'll select what we believe to be the best answers and post them to WashingtonCaps.com.
This week's question: What was your favorite Caps moment of the past calendar year?
Steve S. - Purcellville, VA: I loved Ovie's goal when he went backhand passed to himself, changed direction and scored on his backside while sliding across the ice. That was good, but his putting his hand near his ear to get the crowd going when they showed the replay....that was the icing on the cake!
Andrea S. - Warrenton, VA: My favorite moment was when Mike Green broke the record for most consecutive goals by a defenseman in the game against Tampa Bay. It was really exciting to see the team celebrate with him and having his father there to see it made it really special.
Sherry B. - York, PA: My favorite moment would have to be the look on Gabby's face when they clinched the game that sent them to the playoffs. What a wild comeback ride!!
Fran V. - Manassas, VA: The night Mike Green beat the NHL record. It was two fold,Mike's dad was in the house and the team left the bench in middle of play to give Mike their congrats. It showed just how strong a team connection they all have for one another! Go Caps!
Margaret, M. - Arlington, VA: Favorite moment had to be coming back from a 2 goal deficit in the 3rd period in pittsburgh to win the game. it officially marked the shift of Pens/Caps games. no longer would the Caps be dominated by the Pens. It also showed that the Caps are a team that is never out of a game. This fact was later solidified when we came back from a 4 goal deficit in New York against the Rangers, to win in OT. But that first comeback win on the road in Pittsburgh was the greatest moment, and outlined every other comeback moment for the rest of the season.
