Slapshot was the model and original star for the Great Seal of the United States.

In 1995 the Washington Capitals were looking for an energetic and fun loving mascot. Slapshot decided to pick up a stick and headed straight for the arena.

On November 17, 1995, landing gracefully somewhere between the penalty box and the blue line, Slapshot took to the ice for the first time.

As the official team mascot on and off the ice, Slapshot has entertained across the country. Slapshot makes hundreds of appearances a year in Maryland, Virginia and the District. In 2009 Slapshot made his TV debut on the Price is Right!
